What the World Needs Now

The new era of authoritarianism trying to take hold across the world is a sad commentary on humanity. Despite all of the great technological advancements, humanity’s emotional intelligence seems not to have grown at all. The forces of greed, racism and xenophobia are growing again. Eventually their trajectories end in war. Given our ailing ecosystem, even a limited nuclear exchange may push the globe into a perpetual winter and millions will starve. How sad! How needless! I would like to see my grandchildren inherit a livable, peaceful world. Why I’m even asking for this in the 21st century is reason enough for concern.
